Windsor’s Bangladesh- Canada Association Organized Annual Iftar & Dinner Party - Ashram report
Muslims community all over the world started celebrating holly Ramadan, the month of sacrifice and devotion early this month. As a part of this celebration Bangladesh Canada Association of Windsor-Essex arranged its annual Iftar and Dinner Party this evening at Windsor Islamic Association Centre.
About 400 people including men, women and children attended the event. The Association invited all the Bangladeshi community people and also guests from other ethnic community as well. People started gathering the venue from 8 pm., although the event started at 8:30 pm.
BCAWE President Mr. Saiful Bhuiyan started the event with his introductory speech. He welcomed everyone, especially City Councillor Jim Jim Morrison, Windsor Islamic association President Mirza Baig and Ms. Melinda Munro for their participation in this holly Ramadan event. He said this is the month of purity and love. We should forgive each other and make the unity stronger than ever.
Councillor Morrison said he is really happy to join this nice gathering. He is living close to this Windsor Mosque and WIA Centre area and he feel honoured to get invited and to join the Iftar party.
WIA president Mirza Baig said this is the month of unity and love. We should get rid of all hatred, forgive each other and love everyone.
Ms. Munro, who is a lawyer and Candidate for Windsor West Liberal MP nomination has introduce herself with the community and said happy Ramadan Mubarak to all.
Around at 8:45 Associations General Secretary Mohammad Molla gives his thank you speech. He thanked all special guests and community members, especially the donors, EC members for their support and cordial help.
With the request of BCAWE President Saiful Bhuiyan the Windsor West Musallah Imam Huzaifa did a pre- Iftar Monajat (prayer).
Just after the prayer at 8:52 Iftar started with water, fruit, Biriyani and a lot of other delicious foods.
